The bedroom is off the kitchen. There is a storage cubby behind the door with bins where the informant keeps her clothes instead of a dresser. Next to it is a desk with a director’s chair. The informant states that she rarely works at the desk and so it is usually covered in stacks of papers and unusable. There is a window with white curtains with stylized blue flowers and start shaped twinkle lights. In front of the window is a large cat tree. The bed is white medal with a swirly head board covered in a bedspread that is several shades of blues and turquoise and has birds and floral patterns. The closet takes up almost an entire wall and has mirrored door, next to it is a white bookshelf that the informant received as (a requested) Christmas present as a child. It is filled with her “non-school” books and DVDs. Across from the bed is a wooden bookshelf. On it are her more decorative books as well as a DVD player, TV and stereo. The window looks out over the parking lot so street sounds can be heard here that you don’t notice in other parts of the house. In addition at night you can often hear the coal trains whistle from the tracks that are about a mile away.
