Catching up over pizza, stunted conversations that started and stopped as they bumped over feelings and months of distance. 

Talking about new apartments and roommates, at one point she told them that she was happier living alone, that things just worked better that way. 

After, she couldn’t help but wonder how much of that statement was true and how much was an aspiration.
